Most of our work is water main replacement: renewing old lead, galvanised steel or brittle alkathene supply pipes with modern MDPE. Where a buried pipe is losing water, we trace it first with underground water supply pipe leak detection, so excavation only happens where it is genuinely needed. Where the route allows, trenchless moling installs the new pipe between two small access pits, leaving driveways, lawns and planting intact. Lead pipe replacement improves both water quality and pressure. Every job starts with a free assessment and a fixed written quotation.
The buried supply pipe between the boundary stop tap and your home is normally the homeowner's responsibility, while the water company looks after the main in the road and, usually, the communication pipe up to the boundary. Common signs are a water bill that has risen with no change in usage, dropping pressure when more than one tap is running, a patch of ground or driveway that stays damp or unusually green in dry weather, the sound of running water with everything switched off, and a water meter that keeps turning when nothing is in use. We can confirm it with a leak detection survey before anything is excavated.
We open two small access pits — one near the boundary stop tap and one where the pipe enters the house — and launch a pneumatic mole between them. The mole compacts the soil sideways to form a clean bore and draws the new MDPE pipe through in the same pass, so driveways, lawns and planting between the pits stay untouched.
