How a bathroom installation runs with us
We fit complete bathrooms, shower rooms, en-suites and cloakrooms across Sussex and Surrey. Because we are a small outfit rather than a showroom chain, you deal with the same person from the first visit to the final silicone bead.
Planning and layout
The first visit is about the room rather than the products: where the soil pipe is, where the existing hot and cold runs come from, floor construction, window position and how much of the layout can practically change. Moving a WC is far more constrained than moving a basin, and knowing that early saves choosing a suite that will not work.
We will happily work to a design you have already had drawn up by a showroom, or set out sensible options ourselves. Either way you get a written quote listing exactly what is included, what is excluded and what allowance has been made for tiling and flooring.
Water pressure and hot water
The single most common disappointment with a new bathroom is a shower that underperforms. That is usually a supply issue, not a product issue. We check incoming mains flow rate and pressure before specifying, because a high-demand thermostatic shower or a body-jet system needs flow that many older properties simply do not have — often because the buried supply pipe itself is undersized, lead or partially blocked.
Where the supply is the limiting factor, upgrading the underground main to 25mm or 32mm MDPE by moling is frequently the fix, and it is work we do ourselves rather than subcontracting.
Waterproofing and finish
Shower areas are tanked properly before tiling, trays and enclosures are bedded and sealed rather than simply sat on the floor, and extraction is checked so that moisture actually leaves the room. These are the details that decide whether a bathroom still looks good in ten years.
Timescales and disruption
A straightforward like-for-like bathroom replacement is usually five to eight working days. A full strip-out with layout changes, new flooring and full-height tiling takes longer. We agree the schedule before starting, keep the water on overnight wherever it is possible to do so, and clear up at the end of each day.
