A new water main, without the upheaval
The water supply pipe between the boundary stopcock and your home is the homeowner's responsibility. When it fails — through age, a persistent leak, low pressure or because it's still made of lead — the modern fix is a new 25mm or 32mm blue MDPE main installed using trenchless moling.

When water mains replacement makes sense
Lead pipe replacement
Old lead and galvanised iron supplies are still common in pre-1970s Sussex and Surrey homes. Replacing them protects drinking water and meets modern standards.
Persistent supply leak
If your water meter spins with all taps off, or you've had repeat leak repairs, a full replacement is usually cheaper than another patch.
Low pressure or flow
Undersized 15mm or partially blocked old pipework starves modern combi boilers, showers and outside taps. A new 25mm or 32mm MDPE main fixes it.
Garden or driveway works
Replacing or upsizing the main is far easier before you re-landscape, re-pave or build an extension over the existing run.

Free site survey
We trace the existing main from the meter or boundary stopcock to the property, check ground type and access, and identify the cleanest route for the new pipe.

You receive a single fixed price covering the new MDPE pipe, moling, connections, pressure testing and reinstating any small entry/exit pits. No day rates, no surprises.

Mole the new pipe
Two small pits are dug — one at the meter, one at the property. A pneumatic mole pulls the new MDPE main through underground without trenching the lawn or drive.

Connect & pressure test
We connect the new main to the boundary supply and internal stopcock, pressure test to WRAS standards, flush the system and chlorinate where required.

Reinstate & tidy
The two small pits are backfilled and made good. Your driveway, lawn and paving are left exactly as we found them.
